Architectural Design and Graphics
The design of the Italian Pavilion for the Taipei International Book Fair 2025 has been thought as a center of a small Italian city, where several activities take place allowing social interaction. Italy is the honor guest for the 2025 and the Pavilion is in a wide and very visible area of the Fair.
The area becomes a very relaxing place for visitors while getting interest in exhibitions, in Italian publishers’ offers, in activities, and in books’ presentations.
The pavilion is also a place where people can take it easy; lay down on the grass, read a book.
The activities are faced towards a linear open space, permitting the strolling of people, as a part of the scenery that takes place.
Exhibitions, the IBBY Choice 2024 and the BCBF, (Bologna Children’s Book Fair) a children’s area, a meeting room, a reception, the Eslite’s corner, a conference room, and the publishers’ area: all face towards the open space, furnished with cushions and small tables on artificial grass.
The grass has two different heights; the highest creates four areas in circular shape with cushions, benches, tables; they are inviting people to stay at the Pavilion.
The green linear space is connecting to each other allowing us to take a rest. It defines a new alley.
The red color of the walls, the green of the artificial grass, the white of the furniture create a strong identity for the Italian Pavilion, recalling the flag’s colors.
The chosen furniture ensures a coordinated image of the entire pavilion.
Quotation and lettering on walls declare the presence of different areas and permit an easy orientation in the pavilion.
Conference area can extend on the artificial grass when very crowded, allowing visibility and participation to events.
